Samuel is a composer and musician from northern Minnesota. He began piano lessons at the age of 5, then picked up viola in 5th grade–adding guitar, banjo, ukulele and anything else with strings soon after. Later in high-school he began recording and performing his solo piano compositions and folk-inspired songs. He has a strong connection and experience in many different genres of music including classical, new age piano, indie-rock, theater, folk, jazz, cinematic, and orchestral music.

In 2022, Samuel graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a comprehensive degree in Music Composition as well as Applied Mathematics and Statistics, during which he composed and scored songs for multiple theater productions. He continued in the theater world after moving to Chicago, playing guitar for various musical productions around the area. He also writes, produces, and performs with his own indie-rock band called Sad House Guest.

Samuel’s teaching focuses on the interests and goals of his students. He believes passion is the most important aspect of anyone’s musical journey, and incorporates his varied musical experiences into fun, productive, and fulfilling lessons.
