Neal Williamson

Euphonium, Piano, Trombone, Tuba

Neal began his musical journey at the age of 9 when he picked up the trombone to join his school band. Music instantly became a his passion and he found a great deal of success over the following years, participating in numerous festivals throughout middle school and high school. He then attended Temple University to study music education and trombone performance, where he performed with the Temple University symphony orchestra, wind symphony, and jazz band.

He began teaching music in 2019, first with the Philadelphia Performing Arts Charter School as the assistant band director. That summer, he moved to California to become the band director at Burlingame Intermediate School. In 2022, Neal moved to Chicago to begin his Master’s degree in Trombone Performance at Northwestern University.

As a teacher, Neal believes that navigating the challenges of music can be best achieved by breaking things down into their simplest components. With this approach, he has seen his students grow quickly and stay motivated, even when faced with difficult pieces.
