Maddie was raised in the Chicago suburbs in a family that always supported her artistic pursuits–. From music, to theater, to show production, to art, to dance, she was always well-supported by those closest to her. She started learning piano at a young age and quickly became curious and eventually proficient in other instruments through school and private lessons. She had very influential teachers that inspired her to become a teacher herself and to hopefully inspire her own students one day.
Maddie earned a bachelor’s of music education from Illinois State University, and since then she has worked professionally in music teaching and other educational positions. She participated in the teaching assistant program in France and taught English in southern France, where she connected with students, educated young minds, and celebrated differences in culture.
Maddie has a teaching philosophy that is based on communication, support, and mutual growth and understanding. She takes the time to understand her students’ needs and cultivate appropriate methods that suit each pupil. Every student is unique in the way that they learn–and Maddie strives to support her students by helping them learn music the way that works best! Music is about having fun, expanding one’s concept of learning, and connecting with others. She’s looking forward to supporting your students, helping them reach their goals!
